By Ashley Reichel & Cali Freyn, Holistic Health Coaches
Much like there are trainers who help keep your fitness on point, Holistic Health and Lifestyle Coaches are trainers for the other areas of your life. They look at the whole picture beyond just food, and help clients resolve issues with diet, physical activity, emotional health, time management, relationships, career, and much more. Unlike doctors or other medical professionals, Holistic Health and Lifestyle Coaches do not diagnose clients with specific conditions. Practitioners like Nutritionists and Clinical Dietitians work to put clients on specific eating plans to treat specific conditions, but the role of a Holistic Lifestyle and Health Coach is to provide the support you need as well as the tools and skills to be able reach your overall health and wellness goals.
For example, if you want to try a Vegan diet, (or any new way of eating), but still need to make dinner for the whole family, a Holistic Health and Lifestyle Coach can help to create a meal plan that will suit the needs of everyone at your table. If you want to find
more time for yourself to create healthy habits, but Holistic Health and Lifestyle Coaches are also unique in that they have the time to listen, teach, and often times get to the root causes that may be keeping you from reaching your wellness goals. They assess the areas are your life that you may not even be aware are hindering your wellness goals and help you to navigate your way to a healthier happier self. If there happens to be something that a client is grappling with that is outside the scope of a Holistic Health and Lifestyle Coach, they would steer that person in the right direction, and refer them to another credentialed professional for extra support.
At IM of CNY, we strive to set ourselves apart from your typical medical office. Our focus is on treating the whole person, and getting to the root cause of symptoms. We help our patients with thoroughness and an attention to detail, utilizing the best of Conventional, Functional, and Holistic Medicine. We know that the human body has the innate power to heal itself, and with that knowledge we empower our patients to take an active hand in their healing journey. Through our practice and Holistic Lifestyle Health Coaching we are able to offer a variety of different modalities to guide you through the healing process.
One such modality that will be utilized in conjunction with Holistic Health and Lifestyle Coaching is our new Neurofeedback Program. This program identifies and addresses problems of brain dysregulation, which may include anxiety and depression, attention deficits, behavior disorders, various sleep disorders, headaches and migraines, emotional disturbances, and memory and white matter damage.
This program includes an initial brain mapping to measure the various brain waves and specific training sessions targeted to your individual brain. The training sessions will help to regulate and retrain pathways in the brain. When accompanied by Holistic Lifestyle and Health Coaching, neurofeedback patients can expect to see increased benefits and results. We often forget that the food we eat, the way we treat ourselves inside and out, how much sleep we get, as well as our abilities to handle stress and other life factors can deeply affect our brains and vice versa!
With specific and targeted training sessions accompanied by Holistic Lifestyle Health Coaching we can alleviate less than desirable symptoms and put you on the path to getting you and your brain on track to feeling your very best!
