As beautiful as the change of season is, it can be a hard adjustment to acclimate to the shorter days of sunlight before the winter season arrives. Seasonal Affective Disorder or “Autumn Blues” can cause you to feel unlike yourself. The adjustment from having long sun-filled summer days, to the days of fall when the weather is growing colder can affect one’s overall mood. Feelings of fatigue, irritability, stress, and melancholy can be common this time of year. Here are some things that you can do to help beat the “autumn blues”:
.) Get outside as much as you can during the day. Enjoy Mother Nature!
.) Continue to exercise and eat well!
.) Be kind to yourself! Do things that bring you joy!
.) Try to improve or maintain good sleep habits!
.) Plan downtime! As the Holidays approach, we tend to take on more, and fill our cup up less!
